My nightly skincare routine follows the famous ten step Korean skincare. A book that really helped narrow down my skincare routine is The Little Book of Skincare by Charlotte Cho. It was extremely informative and she explained how all the ingredient work for your skin type and recommended what would work for you based on your skin’s needs.
The first product I use at night is coconut oil to remove my makeup. I know it’s a controversial product but it works well for me and doesn’t clog my pores. I use the Shea Moisture Head to Toe Nourishing Hydration 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. I just take a little bit in my hands and rub it over my face and then wipe it off with a damp cloth. This leaves my face feeling so moisturized and it removes all my makeup.
Next I go in with a facial cleanser called Radiance Crystal Cleansing Foam which I bought from TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx is the best place to look for decently priced Korean skincare if you don’t want to order online. I use a facial cleansing brush with it, I use one from a brand, Cala, which I also purchased from TJ Maxx. You can easily get a facial cleansing brush anywhere though, this just happens to be the one I use currently.
After washing my face I use a toner. I personally really like the Pixi Glow Tonic but I just recently ran out. Instead I’ve been using a spray rose toner and I go back and forth between the Pixi Rose Glow Tonic and the Sky Organics Rosewater Facial Mist. I really like the convenience of these and they’re great for refreshing your face throughout the day.
I then go in with an essence. Now this isn’t really necessary for everyday use but I do it anyways. I absolutely love the Pixi Rose Caviar Essence, the packaging of this product is adorable and I love to display it. Just as a disclaimer, I am not sponsored by Pixi, I just use a lot of their products and love them.
This next step, I don’t do every night, but I use the Esfolio Collagen Ampoule when I feel my skin needs a little more plumpness to it. I make sure to pat this into my skin using my hands instead of just rubbing it in to really get the product to sink in. If I don’t use the ampoule I go in with the Nuva Skin Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which adds so much moisture to my face.
After using all my serums, I use the Pixi Beauty Sleep Cream which has helped even out my skin tone. I then use the Skin to You Vitamin C Cream to brighten my skin. I personally like to use this both day and night, just make sure when using a vitamin C cream during the day, you apply sunscreen or else it will have the opposite effect on your skin.
The eye cream I like to use isn’t really an eye cream, it’s the Pixi 24K Eye Elixir which has a ball at the end that you just roll over your eye area. I really like this product because it’s the only eye product I’ve found so far that doesn’t burn.
The moisturizer I use is the Etude House Collagen Deep Cream. To get a little bit of extra moisture I like to mix in the Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend with it. The final step of this extra skincare routine is to use a sleeping pack, which is basically an overnight mask. I like to switch it up between the Korean Cosmetics Lemon Whitening Sleeping Pack and the Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack. Both of these product are super cute, one is shaped like a lemon and the other looks just like a cup of bubble tea. The whitening sleeping pack is more of a brightening mask and the bubble tea sleeping pack is a more hydrating one. It just depends on how my skin feels that night.
I know this is a lot of products and a lot of steps but it has really cleared up my skin. This takes my about ten minutes every night to do, so it doesn’t take too long despite how it might seem. Do you follow the Korean skincare routine? What products do you use? Let me know down below!
